Potter's hands shaping clay on the wheel

Eight years of clay, fire, and patience.

My Story

Functional pottery made for everyday life.

At Atelier Payen Ceramics, I create functional pottery designed for everyday life. Originally from France and now based in the United States, I work primarily on the wheel to craft bowls, cups, and vessels with clean lines and expressive glazes.

My work explores the balance between form, texture, and movement in glaze. Each piece is unique, but made to be used and enjoyed daily.

"Each piece unique, but made to be used and enjoyed daily."

Each piece is wheel-thrown and finished with layered glazes that evoke mineral textures and ocean landscapes. The deep teals, indigo blues, and earthy stoneware tones reflect the colors of the sea, of stone, of the French countryside I carry with me.

I sell my work at craft fairs, where I love meeting the people who will bring a piece home. There is something wonderful about watching someone pick up a bowl, feel its weight, run their thumb along the rim. That moment of connection between maker and user is what keeps me at the wheel.
